Joseph Villa

Vice President Operations, Columbia Coastal Transport

As Vice President Operations, Joseph Villa is responsible for optimum utilization and operation of Columbia Coastal Transport, the premier container barge operator in the U.S.  He also has responsibility for government, military and project cargo development, important segments of the company’s overall activities.

Joseph Villa has been with Columbia Group since October of 1999 when he joined them as general manager operations. .

Prior to joining Columbia, Villa had 18 years of varied operations experience acquired with Sea-land Service, Inc. and then as marine operations manager in Port Everglades, FL.

During his tenure with Sea-Land, Mr. Villa held increasingly responsible management positions in terminal operations, equipment control, rail and marine operations, experience used routinely in Columbia Coastal’s waterborne and intermodal freight transportation services.

Mr. Villa holds a Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA.
