Columbia Coastal Transport provides specialized project cargo transportation services to shippers of heavy and over dimensional equipment. Our project cargo specialists are accustomed to solving complex logistical challenges encountered when handling project cargo. Our project management services include early projection of transportation costs; a tailored, customized transportation plan; and on-site meetings with the customer to determine proper routings and the safest, most efficient method of transport. Here are some examples of recent projects that we serviced:
- Cheatham Annex – A US Navy cargo move from Cheatham Annex Virginia to Jacksonville, Florida. The move included the use of two barges and it moved 48 pieces of rolling stock and 161 containers.
- Container Crane to Dominican Republic – The movement of a container crane and associated assemblies from Portsmouth, Virginia to the Dominican Republic.
