Servicing Shipping Lines and Leasing Companies

Columbia Container Services repairs containers for steamship lines and leasing companies. The repair of containers occur at the empty container facilities that Columbia operates for Maher Terminals in the Elizabeth Marine Terminal, New Jersey and an off-site container depot for the Port of Boston located at Conley Terminal in Massachusetts.

Our Process

Our container repair process: If a piece of equipment in the TIR lane is identified as damaged, it is segregated in the yard so that a cost estimate for repair can be made by using criteria supplied by the leasing company or steamship line. Once the estimate is approved, CCS repairs the equipment to meet or exceed customer requirements.
Columbia Container Services has its own published tariff that specifies the time allotted for each type of container repair. Everything from a sill replacement to re-lettering a container is documented in the tariff making it easier for customers to manage repairs. Procedures are also in place to review a customer’s in-house tariff in an effort to make sure all requirements are met.

The company handles all aspects of container repair, from ordering customer-approved parts to delivering the repaired unit. Our commitment to service means every repair is made with safety and integrity in mind.
